sisters…

three lovely sisters, daughters of heather bowser. very easy to photograph, they are definitely well trained..ha!

i wanted to post these before summer was over. i can’t believe tomorrow is the first day of fall! my son and myself have been enjoying nice walks in the morning, the air has been so fresh and the weather is very comfortable. also, he has been enjoying seeing all of the “army men and trucks” driving around shadyside getting ready for the g-20.

labor day…

our labor day, celebrated on sunday, i came down with a horrible migraine. to keep the day simple and fun, we bought some picnic food at the whole foods and spent a couple of hours at mellon park collecting nuts from trees and sticks. just some snapshots from the d40, nothing spectacular..but, with christmas right around the corner, i will be extra busy with sessions so my children will be lucky enough to not have quite so many photos taken of them.

in the city…

i shot this session as a second shooter with tiffany from hot metal studio

a big thank you goes to oh yeah! ice cream & coffee for hooking us up with a birthday cake ice cream cone that we used during the shoot. it is definitely my kid’s favorite place to go for ice cream, and they also make a fantastic americano!

my little fashionista! :)

i am so, so thankful for school uniforms. she is very picky about her clothes, and the uniforms definitely simplify the process.

breakfast…

with the little miss being gone at school all day, i get to spend some extra time with our son. it is definitely way more quiet in the mornings after we drop her off at school. here he is enjoying some organic corn flakes from trader joe’s!

just a snapshot…

tomorrow this little gal starts her first day of kindergarten. the past year has been a little stressful finding a school for her, but with a lot of prayers she is starting at a very awesome school. i have been with her just about every day for the past almost 6 years, and it is so hard for me to think that she is going out into the world for the first time.

don’t mind the snapshot, the mister snapped it on his iphone. my computer crashed on friday and hopefully the apple store on walnut st. in shadyside will have it back very soon! anyways, the photo was taken on monday after our daughters meet and greet at school. after i got dressed, she went and picked out an outfit to match mine. she is definitely my mini me, and i am going to miss her dearly!

vacation recap…

we left for vacation to sleep in a tent along the coast over a month ago, and i finally decided to take the time to go through the photos and pick a few (or 14..ha!) to share. we had an amazing time, and it was definitely difficult to come home and get back to every day life after being away for two weeks. in fact, an evening last week our daughter came out of her bedroom sobbing, and her reason for doing so was because she wanted to go back to the beach. i certainly wanted to join her in the crying to go back to the beach!

she couldn’t get enough of the water, and became an awesome boogie boarder…

and the little guy enjoyed it just as much…

driving on the beach was exciting, although the vacuuming all of the sand out was not (according to the mister, anyways..i wouldn’t know! haha!)

0818bl51

playing in the sand, finding shells and building castles kept us all entertained for hours everyday…

making smores with strawberry marshmallows over charcoal due to the lack of firewood was a hit with both kids…

playing along the ocean at sunset, walking on the dunes and flying kites is something i wouldn’t mind doing on a daily basis!
