big announcement…

With my kids getting older, and both being in school I am finding it harder and harder to find time to work. With baseball, soccer and camping I have had to turn down too many sessions this spring. I am going to be taking the next couple of months off to restructure my business. I have a small list of photographers who I have worked with and highly respect and will be more than happy to refer them to you. I want to thank all of my past clients over the past 4 years to trust me with your family portraits. It has been a fantastic experience meeting so many new people around the Pittsburgh area!

brother and sister…

It is always nice when the children you are photographing know you by name. You can’t look at these pictures with out smiling. Capturing siblings together, especially when one is a toddler, can definitely make a photographer nervous. You never really know how they are going to turn out, or if you can capture them both looking happy at the same time. These two were happy to sit together and share some giggles! Climbing trees and running in the leaves also gave us some big smiles!

Considering that the leaves are out and flowers are bloomed in Pittsburgh, it only makes sense to get caught up in posting all of my fall sessions. Over the weekend we did some camping, and I always find it so amazing that just 50 miles north they are still waiting for the leaves to come out.

On to this family, how good looking are they? I love the lumberjack matching jackets! I have photographed this family four times now, and it is always a pleasure.

glorious snow…

Mama was hoping for some snow fall for this session. Lucky for her, one week prior it was in the 50’s and sunny. She taught snowboarding in the past, so she was more than happy to be out in the cold. Her son and myself prefer to be warm. :) After we were done at Schenley, we went back to their home. There it was much warmer and dryer. I was excited before coming because she had sent some photos of their home. It could be very well featured in Dwell, it’s that lovely! It will be going on the market soon, so if you are looking for a home in a very happening part of the city, let me know!

five..

Somehow this kid turned FIVE this past Thursday. He wasn’t convinced that he was actually five, because apparently he wasn’t tall enough. I disagree! Now that we had a full weekend of celebrating, which included 4 of his cousins sleeping over (that will be a whole blog post on its own!), he will finally tell you that he is in fact five.

For the birthday treat, we made brownie cupcakes with a peanut butter frosting. Thanks to Pittsburgh’s own Emily Levenson for that recipe.
