big announcement…

With my kids getting older, and both being in school I am finding it harder and harder to find time to work. With baseball, soccer and camping I have had to turn down too many sessions this spring. I am going to be taking the next couple of months off to restructure my business. I have a small list of photographers who I have worked with and highly respect and will be more than happy to refer them to you. I want to thank all of my past clients over the past 4 years to trust me with your family portraits. It has been a fantastic experience meeting so many new people around the Pittsburgh area!

Considering that the leaves are out and flowers are bloomed in Pittsburgh, it only makes sense to get caught up in posting all of my fall sessions. Over the weekend we did some camping, and I always find it so amazing that just 50 miles north they are still waiting for the leaves to come out.

On to this family, how good looking are they? I love the lumberjack matching jackets! I have photographed this family four times now, and it is always a pleasure.

first steps…

This session was so fun, that we decided to do it again the following weekend. Well, it was fun, but that’s not why we had to do a re-shoot. Unfortunately I had a lens that stopped focusing, and I wasn’t aware of it until I began editing this session. So dissapointing, but thankfully we had another beautiful Saturday! It was also great because the little girl began standing on her own and taking a few steps since the first session. It was exciting to be able to capture that for mom and dad!

first post of 2011…

Sadly, one of my new year resolutions is not to blog more. Although it probably should be! I wasn’t sure which session to start with. I had my busiest season yet, so thank you to all my clients! I decided to start with this family, who is extra special to me. The mom is my first friend I had from elementary school. We met in first grade, and I can still remember her standing in the door way with a Coca-Cola shirt on. I guess we were pretty fashionable back in the late 80’s!

green!…

It has been way too long since my last blog post. Three of the families that are on the first page, I have since photographed again. That means I have some major catching up to do in the new year, for sure!

The session I am sharing today is making me realize how much I do not like winter. It has only been cold and snowy for a week, and I am deeply missing the summer months! This family was an easy one to photograph, and their kids were super fun. Once their son found some rottened apples on the ground, he really loosend up for me and the camera. :) They just recently moved here from Seattle, and I hope they are surviving the start of a Pittsburgh winter!
