goodbye pittsburgh, hello ocean…

tomorrow night, or very early friday morning (depends on how you look at it…) i will be leaving for a much needed beach get-a-way with these two crazy kiddos, and my great hubster who will be doing the 10 hour drive on his own. the dog also gets to join us this year! any orders that are placed while i am gone will be finished up after august 10.

sometimes my kids think they are cowboys…

rain showers…

you can tell by the way this family is dressed how long ago this session took place. it is now hot, humid and miserable. i am so far behind in posting sessions, yikes! on this session, it was a rainy day but we had already rescheduled due to the rain the prior weekend. the rain never did pass over, so we made the best of the situation. umbrellas and boots always make fun props!

niece and nephew…

i photograph my sisters kids, and we get to camp at no cost on her and her husbands 120+ acres in the middle of nowhere. we get to use their pool and four-wheelers. it’s a win win situation! :)

officially a first grader…

two weeks ago this little girl finished her kindergarten year. i really thought i was going to be an emotional mess picking her up. i may have teared up a tiny bit during their award ceremony, but mostly i was filled with pride. we opted out of pre-school, so she had no prior education before this year. i was worried about how she would do. she ended up doing great, and made a couple of BFF’s. she can pick up any book from her book shelf and read away. she is writing stories, that even i can read. she can count to 199. she can give a tour of frick park and identify many plants. the other day in the car she was surprised because she saw a brown ant. i told her that maybe it wasn’t an ant. she insisted it was because it had a “head, thorax and abdomen.” she is sassier than ever (that part we could do with out!) and the last week of school she lost TWO teeth. sadly the first one went down the drain while she was brusing her teeth, but thankfully the tooth fairy visited anyway.

there are so many new babies in our thursday morning playgroup. which by the way if you are interested in coming, send me an email. we are very welcoming to new moms! :) anyways, like i said before, it is always a pleasure to photograph your friends! the little girl wasn’t thrilled at all to have her photo taken, she wanted to play. i can’t say that i don’t blame her. if i were to use this location again, i would bring a step stool so the arrows would be more directly pointing at the belly. next time.. :)

so sunny..

due to leaving a few minutes late, then construction and bridges being closed, i was very late for this session. thankfully the little girl was able to stay awake (yay for lunch breaks!) through the session. i was also thankful for cute polk a dot rugs, covered forts and porches for shade. there wasn’t a single cloud in the sky this day! very sweet kids, and the boy was full of energy..go figure! :)
